Referees Appointments 2017/2018 – New procedure

ESSEX AND SUFFOLK BORDER FOOTBALL LEAGUE

TO ALL CLUBS

Can you ensure the notes below are relayed to all Officers etc. within your Club.

REFEREES APPOINTMENTS

This season as part of the “Centralised Referees Appointments” pilot scheme all referees’ appointments are being undertaken by the Referees Dept. of the Essex County FA.

As with last season you will receive notification from FA Full Time details of your Match Officials for every fixture. There is no Referees Panel in our handbook so you will see the Match Officials email address with the notification. All the Referees other details are in the ECFA handbook.

One other important note, any matters relating to Referees Appointments must be addressed to James Lisher in the first instance. If you feel it necessary you can copy any emails to me.

CONFIRMATION TO MATCH OFFICIALS

One small change, rule 19(D) states when confirming fixtures “five clear days” must be given, in line with other Leagues “four clear days” will be sufficient. ie.confirmation by Monday evening for a fixture the following Saturday.

TEAM SHEETS

Due to the lateness of the commencement of this scheme we were unable to amend part of rule 13(E). This season it will NOT be a requirement for the Home Club to provide the Match Officials with a stamped addressed envelope.

Match Officials will be using a League Match Report Form as per rule 13(J).

If you have any queries or need any clarification on any of the above please do not hesitate to contact me (by email) – alangould55@outlook.com

Good luck for the season,
