Three Divisions saw more than thirty goals scored, averaging five a game, seven teams failed to register at all, and two matches saw double figures reached!

Let’s start in Division Four, leaders Harwich & Parkeston were held to a draw by mid-table Brooklands, who are now unbeaten in seven matches, and recently gave second placed Silver End United Reserves their only defeat to date. Saturday, saw nothing change positionally, as Tendring Borough, who sit in third place, in a one-sided affair lost and where the visitors (three for Coney and Pirie) won by ten goals to two and thus became the first team to score one hundred goals for the season and they still have nine games remaining! Second bottom Tollesbury overcame Elmstead Market Reserves, Kelvedon Social beat West Bergholt Reserves to move up to fifth and fourth placed Hedinghams United Reserves scored seven against Bradfield Rovers Reserves with the other match, a draw between Mersea Island and Boxted Lodgers Reserves.

Division Three had four matches, Silver End United, Roman Rovers Reserves, Elmstead Market and Wormingford Wanderers Reserves all won and all moved up one place, below the top three who were inactive.

The most matches played, seven, were in Division Two, the big game was at Plough Corner, where third placed, Tavern, in a feisty match, beat previously unbeaten The Rodings, by four goals to two, the teams change places but remain behind leaders Prettygate who lost at Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves (three for Willoughby) whose first team match fell foul, of the Friday rain at Corringham! Earls Colne Reserves (three for L. Clifford), with games in hand are handily placed in fourth spot, this after beating struggling Boxford Rovers who drop to bottom spot after White Notley Reserves gained a point against Dedham Old Boys Reserves. In the other three matches, the Great’s of Bentley (Reserves) and Bradfords both won as did Roman Rovers (three for Baker) who hit Cressing United Reserves for five.

There were just two matches in Division One, Gas Recreation beat Lawford Lads to remain unbeaten at the top and with games in hand on the chasing pack look odd’s on for the title, Dovercourt Rovers had an away day to Cavendish and returned with the three points to move up to third.

Its no change at the top of the Premier Division, the top five teams all won, looking up, Earls Colne beat Barnston, Cressing United beat Sudbury Sports, Thorpe Athletic beat Hatfield Peverel, Brightlingsea Town beat Tiptree Heath and Kings Park Rangers (three each for Cocklin, Codrington and also new signing Godward) thumped White Notley, who scored first, by eleven goals to two, clearly tough times for the bottom team! In the other match, Stanway Pegasus Reserves (three for Payne), beat Belle Vue Social and they move above Sudbury Sports who are scheduled to play Kings Park Rangers on Tuesday evening at Cornard United FC. In the Knock-Out Cup, Premier Division, Dedham Old Boys beat Division One, Gosfield United by two goals to one, to reach the semi-final.

Finally, in an all Division Three tie, divisional leaders Hatfield Peverel Reserves (three for Dingli), reached the semi-final of the Richard Degville Cup after beating Tiptree Heath Reserves by seven goals to one.
