Date:   Tuesday 20^th December 2016.          Venue: Brantham Leisure Centre, Brantham

 

A single first half goal against the general of play, saw a new-look ESBFL team weather some early pressure from Brantham where the visitors defence looked a bit fragile as the new players got to know each other better.

 

Brantham could and should have been a couple of goals ahead before DAN BOXALL galloped away onto a pass from Springett to slot home, this after the home keeper had been deceived by the bounce of the ball as he went to ground.

 

HALF-TIME:       0 – 1

 

With both substitutes starting the second half the ESBFL had much more of the attacking play as other player positions were tinkered with and with a classy top corner finish from RYAN CARVEY and a STUART REDDICK penalty the ESBFL ran out comfortable winners.

 

FULL TIME:        0 – 3

 

The assembled ESBFL squad for this game featured many new players who have not been considered before and generally they acquitted themselves well. More players will become available for consideration for future games as the management start to rebuild from the last national competition where the quarter finals were reached.

 

This match was the first of several to be arranged as the ESBFL will once again affiliate to participate in the FA Inter-League Competition where the first round draws will be announced early in the New Year with the ESBFL expected to play at least one cup match before the end of this season. More details on this will follow in due course.
