There was one midweek, Premier Division match on Tuesday, where Sudbury Sports were beaten by Stanway Pegasus Reserves.

Sadly, another Club has folded, Flitch United FC, bottom of Division Three have called it a day after ten years in the ESBFL, the Teams playing record will be expunged in due course.

The last Knock-Out cup, Quarter Final was played between Brightlingsea Town and Stanway Pegasus Reserves with the home team being victorious after a penalty shoot-out (6-5) with the scores level at two goals apiece at full-time, they will now play Dedham Old Boys FC in the semi-final.

There were four matches in the Premier Division, Kings Park Rangers now need just three more points to secure at least Runners-Up, on Saturday they beat understrength, and second placed, Earls Colne scoring four times without reply mainly from defensive errors. Cressing United missed the chance to move up to second when losing at Hatfield Peverel, sixth placed, Barnston, again scored four, this time against Tiptree Heath and East Thurrock continued their improvement by beating Alresford Colne Rangers whom they leap-frog to go eighth.

Gas Recreation show no sign of dropping their title hopes, this week beating Cornard United Reserves to stay fourteen points ahead of Gosfield United who move up to second after beating fourth placed Dovercourt Rovers, fifth placed Great Bentley hit seven against Frinton & Walton to move ominously up to third with games in hand and next week play Gas Recreation at home. The match between Cavendish and Lawford Lads ended one goal apiece.

Six matches were played in Division Two, second placed, Prettygate hit six against Boxford Rovers, The Rodings did likewise (three for Armitage), against lowly White Notley Reserves but Earls Colne Reserves move up to fourth with an eleven-goal (three for Clifford {L} and Gregory), demolition of Stillwaters, who managed two in reply. Elsewhere Alresford Colne Rangers (Four for Smith) beat Gas Recreation Reserves, Dedham Old Boys Reserves beat Cressing United Reserves and Great Bentley Reserves edged out Great Bradfords by the solitary goal scored.

Division Three had six matches, Hatfield Peverel Reserves beat third placed, West Bergholt to stay fifteen points ahead of inactive, Barnston Reserves. In the chasing pack, Tiptree Jobserve lost to Elmstead Market (three for Beavis), Silver End United lost to Tiptree Heath Reserves, Wormingford Wanderers hit eight (three for Barton), against Great Bentley “A”, Roman Rovers Reserves shared the points with Oyster and in the basement battle, Ramsey & Mistley beat Tendring District.

Finally, seven matches were played in Division Four, leaders, Silver End United Reserves hit ten (four for Coney), against West Bergholt Reserves, second placed Harwich & Parkeston “A” edged out fourth placed Tendring Borough by the odd goal in five, meaning Boxted Lodgers (three for Lewis), stay third after hitting eight against bottom team, Elmstead Market Reserves who still average six goals against, per match! There were also wins for Roman Rovers “A” against Bradfield Rovers Reserves, Brooklands with six against Abbey Fields, Mersea Island beat Tollesbury and Hedinghams United Reserves drew with Kelvedon Social.
