FvH: Tackling Homophobia and Discrimination in Men’s Grassroots Football
Football v Homophobia’s ‘Tackling Homophobia and Discrimination in Men’s Grassroots Football’ webinar is designed to support the Essex and Suffolk Border Football League’s commitment to inclusivity.
In this session on Thursday 29 October 2026 (6pm GMT), Jon Holmes from the FvH campaign’s core team will guide attendees through sections on:
The state of play regarding discriminatory language and behaviour in today’s men’s grassroots game, incorporating the latest available data and statistics
Case studies and scenarios that help to illustrate incidents of homophobia
How to act responsibly when incidents of this nature occur
The impact of homophobic abuse and discrimination
How to create more LGBTQ+-inclusive environments and encourage active allyship
Attendees are invited to listen, learn and engage with the webinar, such as through Q&As, chat, and polls. There will be time at the end to ask questions.
The aim of the webinar is to give you the confidence to identify, challenge and report homophobia and discrimination, reports of which continue to rise in the men’s grassroots game.
FvH looks forward to welcoming you on Zoom on Thursday 29 October, starting at 6pm GMT (max. duration 1 hr).
