ESBFL – Reserve Cup &Tommy Thompson Cup for 2019/2020

As you are aware the ESBFL were intending to play out the three cup finals from last season.

When the return to grassroots football was announced it was our hope to play these last matches during August with the finals at the very end of the month before the season starting in September.

We have now had confirmation that we are not permitted to hold those matches as competitive matches cannot restart until September.

The committee have therefore reluctantly decided that the above cups cannot be played through to completion and will have to be voided.

A further issue with these cups was player eligibility which could have led to controversy with Essex County FA.

On a more positive note, the Knockout Cup which only has 2 matches left to play, one semi final and the final WILL be played at the very start of the season (dates to be advised).
