ESBFL – Season 2010/2021 continuance – Voting Results.

Message from Hon Secretary, ESBFL:

I have now had votes from the vast majority of clubs. The results are as follows:

Option 1 – 47 votes 66%
Option 2 – 12 votes 16%
Option 3 – 13 votes 18%

So an overwhelming vote for Option 1.

This therefore means that we will conclude the season with the Cup Competitions. The plan is to start playing on 10 April. The draws have already been made and are published. (They can be seen on full time or in the handbook from page 148)

We have already said that there will be no penalty if clubs no longer wish to play in the competitions. But what I do need is for you to let me know if your club does not want to participate. If you have more than one team you can withdraw reserve (or A team) but you can’t withdraw the first team and play reserves! I MUST know your decision on this by Friday 19 March and shall assume that you do wish to participate if I don’t hear from you by then.

Over the next couple of weeks the Fixture Secretary will work on the fixtures and publish them. Some teams have offered to help others who may have problems with their pitches and we are more than happy for you to make arrangements in this regard.

As previously said we are hoping to hold the Cup Finals over the weekend of the late May Bank holiday.

I am expecting that there will be more guidance from the government and FA but do not expect it to be significantly different than it was in December. Obviously I will circulate this as soon as I have anything.

Please contact me if you have any issues.
