Essex County FA – League Information to support return of grassroots football

Firstly, thank you for your continued commitment, time and work to support the safe return of grassroots football during these unprecedented times.
The update from The FA on Saturday 18^th July and subsequent guidance documents set out the timescales for a proposed return to competitive grassroots football.
Since then clubs and leagues across Essex have spent time digesting the information, and particularly at League level, beginning the process of restarting league programmes.
During this period we have received a large number of queries from both clubs and leagues in relation to the implementation of the guidance and league’s responsibilities in supporting their member clubs to meet and fulfil the requirements when the season commences.
Due to the circumstances we are working in and the how quickly things are evolving there are still some areas we are querying with the FA, however our focus is on working together to find solutions and ensuring a safe and enjoyable return to grassroots football in Essex.
In that sentiment please find attached: League Guidance Document The document shares information, clarification and key considerations for leagues to review as they begin to prepare for league programmes to resume.
As you review the document can you please come back to confirm:
1. What date are you looking at commencing your 2020/21 season?
2. What format will the league take? Are there any planned difference into how the league will operate?
3. What support do you need from Essex County FA to restart? League Participation Review 19/20 season Please find enclosed League Participation Review Document with details, insight and analysis on the 19/20 season for your League. As a reminder this is a document we intend to produce on a seasonal basis for our leagues to support development, review key areas and support decision making processes. Due to the nature of the current climate feel free to utilise it as the season progresses and if once reviewing you have any queries or would like to pick up further discussion on it please contact your local Football Development Officer in the first instance. We will be hosting League forums to help facilitate further discussion / support on restarting grassroots football:
