Sad news – Bernie Sanach – Wormingford Wanderers FC

Brian Jones, Secretary of Wormingford Wanderers FC says:

I am sorry to have to tell you about the death of Bernie Sanach – currently Fixture Secretary of Wormingford Wanderers FC.

Over the years Bernie has performed a number of roles within our Club (mainly as Chairman) – this after many years as player, referee and team manager.

His most successful time was managing Moler Rangers FC to Fowler Cup and League success in the 1970’s in the Colchester Sunday League.

He was well known within local footballing circles – knew just about everyone, in particular former Border League Secretary, Dick Degville, they were great mates.

Players don’t always appreciate what goes on behind the scenes – without people like Bernie and might I say, the E&SBL committee, the game would not be in the healthy (pre COVID of course) state that it is.

Bernie passed away on Thursday 11th, the day of his 75th birthday, from as far as we know, a brain aneurysm.

He will be greatly missed by everyone – R.I.P. mate
