Sad News – Brian Lawrence – UPDATED & request for a Minutes silence.

It is with great regret that we must inform that Brian Lawrence died early this morning having been poorly for some time.

He has been involved in local football, particularly Little Oakley FC, we believe for 33 years, this included being their chairman for a number of years and overseeing them win the Essex Intermediate Cup in 1990.

He has also been on the ESBFL Management Committee for 27 years, most recently as the Authentication Officer.

Brian was a regular on all the Jersey visits which we knew he really enjoyed and most recently in November last year he and Sue came to Jersey to see us finally be victorious over the Jersey team

He will be sadly missed by all the committee and our thoughts are with Sue, his wife, and the rest of his family.

His funeral will be held at Colchester Crematorium on Monday 25th April 2016 at 13:15pm and afterwards at Stanway Rovers Football Club.

Would all clubs, teams, officials and supporters please observe a “minutes silence” at matches to be played this coming Saturday, 16th April 2016.
