Sad News – Mick Turner / Gas Recreation FC and Peter Whent – former ESBFL Vice-Chairman

It is with the deepest regret that we must advise that Mick Turner, a stalwart of Gas Recreation FC over many decades passed away on Friday, last week. Mick hardly ever missed a game involving “The Gas” and his meticulous notebooks will bear witness to that fact. A minutes silence was held before last Saturdays First team match against West Bergholt FC.

Details of his funeral will be shared as soon as we know them.

Peter Whent

It is also with regret that we must advise that Peter Whent, formerly Vice-Chairman and Life Member of ESBFL passed away recently, his funeral, at Braintree is on Thursday 18th November 2021.

Both will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with both families, friends and the football family in general.
