ESSEX & SUFFOLK BORDER FOOTBALL LEAGUE            2025 / 2026

WEEKLY ROUND UP       @       11/04/2026.

As the 2025 / 2026 season winds slowly down, there are still some important issues to be resolved, one certainty though is that Gosfield United FC are Champions and the Rodings & Little Waltham FC are Runners-Up of Division One, the teams played each other on Saturday in their final match, and it was The Rodings & Little Waltham FC who prevailed by two goals to nil.

Surprisingly, one match was postponed in the Premier Division, this was for a lack of players, as it was, five other games were played, bottom team Alresford Colne Rangers won for only the third time when beating Cressing United, away from home, whilst third bottom, White Notley lost at home to Springfield. The Premier Division, Championship remains undecided as all three top teams won, Thorpe Athletic beat Dedham Old Boys by the odd goal in five, second placed East Thurrock Community won by three goals to one at Gas Recreation and Great Bentley only managed one goal away at Earls Colne to remain third, but with a game in hand.

Division One had one other match which saw Dovercourt Rovers finish their season in fourth place after beating sixth placed Tavern by two goals to nil.

Division Two had three matches, bottom team Great Bradfords scored two but leaked eight goals against Cavendish (three for Childs), who stay fifth. Bradfield Rovers remain in top spot after scoring five without reply against Springfield Reserves and Wormingford Wanderers beat Cressing United Reserves.

There was another postponement in Division Three but in the matches played, top team, Tiptree Jobserve beat Elmstead Market by five goals to one and fourth placed Mersea Island were held to a three-all draw by nineth placed, Wivenhoe United.

There were two second round ties in the Richard Degville Cup, Tollesbury, mid-table in Division Four beat mid-table, Division Three, Silver End United Reserves and in, the all Division Four tie Rayne scored three without reply away against Hedinghams United Reserves.

In the outstanding Tommy Thompson Cup, Third Round tie, West Bergholt beat Harwich & Parkeston “A” by five goals to two.
