Six matches failed to take place last Saturday, three because of the weather and three more because teams had a lack of players!

The well publicised Premier Division, top of the table clash at Brightlingsea Town saw them lose to Kings Park Rangers who move four points clear, third placed Thorpe Athletic drew against fourth placed Cressing United, fifth placed Earls Colne (three for Ladlow) closed the gap when winning at Barnston whose losing run is now six matches. The other winners were East Thurrock Community (three for Coventry-James), Hatfield Peverel, and Stanway Pegasus Reserves, whilst Sudbury Sports drew with White Notley.

In Division One, Gas Recreation showed their intentions hitting seven when beating fourth placed Little Oakley Reserves, Lawford Lads winning streak was halted by Gosfield United who shared six goals, and now sit second and fourth respectively. Great Bentley move up to fifth after beating Bradfield Rovers (three for Stratton). Frinton & Walton’s recent improved form saw them win again against Tiptree Jobserve, likewise Cornard United Reserves who hit five against Hedinghams United.

Division Two had six matches, Prettygate scored nine (four for Boyle) but stay second, Tavern hit seven to stay fourth, Boxford Rovers scored six (three for Montgomery) to beat White Notley Reserves, the team just above them near the bottom. There were also wins for second placed Earls Colne Reserves and Dedham Old Boys Reserves but in the local derby the Reserves teams of Alresford Colne Rangers (three for Hodgson) and Great Bentley also shared six goals to remain in mid-table.

There were just three matches in Division Three, Hatfield Peverel Reserves stay top after hitting six (three for Dingli) against Oyster, West Bergholt (three for Clarke) scraped home by the odd goal in seven against Elmstead Market and Silver End United beat, Great Bentley “A”, by a single goal.

Six matches were played in Division Four, leaders Silver End United Reserves, scored eight, (five for Coney), second placed Harwich & Parkeston “A” scored four, third placed Hedinghams United Reserves slipped up against Kelvedon Social but highest scorers on the day were fourth placed, Tendring Borough with eleven, their substitutes contributed eight (four for Coyle) in that total. Bradfield Rovers Reserves won against Brooklands and West Bergholt Reserves beat Tollesbury to give the away team a winning club double.
