Congratulations go to Cavendish FC who beat Benhall St Mary FC on penalties in their Suffolk County Primary Cup, semi-final, they will now play Laxfield FC in the final, on a date to be arranged.

The last three, quarter-final ties in the Knock-Out Cup were played last Saturday, East Thurrock Community overcame Premier Division rivals Springfield by two goals to one, they will now play Premier Division, Great Bentley who scored seven without reply, away against Tollesbury of Division Four. The surprise of the round was Division Two, West Bergholt, who beat Premier Division, Tiptree Heath, this was on penalties after the scores were level at Full-Time, they will now play Cressing United.

Two matches were played in the Premier Division, Thorpe Athletic took advantage of the teams around them not being in action and went top after beating Hatfield Peverel by four goals to two and Dedham Old Boys after four straight defeats got their act together to beat White Notley.

Division One leaders, Gosfield United, sent out a strong message to the chasing pack when beating third placed Clacton Regent by four goals to nil, they stay eight points ahead of The Rodings & Little Waltham who beat second bottom Lawford Lads by three goals to nil. Fourth placed Prettygate finished their season with a two-all draw against Roman Rovers, fifth placed, Tavern also won beating Hatfield Peverel Reserves by four goals to nil, but the top four positions remain unchanged. In the other match Hedinghams United beat visiting Frinton & Walton by two goals to nil.

Four matches were played in Division Two, leaders Bradfield Rovers beat second placed Silver End United Reserves by two goals to nil, third placed Gas Recreation Reserves failed to capitalise when they lost by three goals to two when Boxford Rovers visited Bromley Road. Springfield Reserves beat Great Bradfords, who remain the only team yet to win a game, by five goals to one and in the local derby, White Notley Reserves drew with Cressing United Reserves.

Biggest scorers in Division Three were leaders, Tiptree Jobserve, who went nap against Elmstead Market, they stay four points ahead of Great Bentley “A” who beat Stillwaters by a single goal. Mersea Island stay fourth after beating Boxted Lodgers by three goals to one and Wivenhoe United moved to within a point of Silver End United Reserves after beating them by two goals to one.

Division Four had six matches, leaders Frinton & Walton Reserves in a goal-less match, were held by third placed Hedinghams United Reserves, Roman Rovers “A” remain second on goal difference after beating Wormingford Wanderers Reserves. Rayne move up two places after beating Prettygate Reserves, Bradfield Rovers scored three to the two from West Bergholt Reserves but fourth placed Ramsey & Mistley could only draw with bottom team, Elmstead Market Reserves who slip further behind Tendring District who beat Kelvedon Social by three goals to two. The ESBFL Reserve Knock-Out Cup Final between Great Bentley FC Reserves and Silver End United FC Reserves will be played on Good Friday 3^rd April 2026 at Coggeshall Town FC, KO:19:45pm.
