There was only one winner last Saturday, the weather of course, which played havoc with the fixture list with only seventeen matches being played and fourteen postponed.

Great Bentley, with a two, goals to one, victory against White Notley have moved to the top of the division, Sudbury Sports beat Springfield, and go second, lowly Belle Vue Social lost to Gas Recreation by the odd goal in seven and Earls Colne were held at one goal apiece by neighbouring Cressing United.

Three matches survived in Division One, Great Bentley Reserves hit eight against bottom team, Lawford Lads, Frinton & Walton beat Dovercourt Rovers by two goals to one but in the second versus third match, Clacton Regent beat The Rodings & Little Waltham by three clear goals to go second on a goal difference of one.

The top two teams played each other in Division Two, Bradfield Rovers at home to Gas Recreation Reserves, the result was a draw, two goals apiece, Cavendish scored three to the one from Wormingford Wanderers and White Notley Reserves gained a useful win over Springfield Reserves.

In Division Three, second placed Tiptree Jobserve drew with third placed Great Bentley “A” though neither side could find the net, Silver End United Reserves were big winners hitting five against Brooklands who drop to bottom place as Roman Rovers Reserves won for only the second time, this was against Stillwaters.

There were seventeen goals in the three Division Four matches, Kelvedon Social scored four against the two scored by Ramsey & Mistley, Hedinghams United Reserves scored three to the one from West Bergholt Reserves, finally Stanway Rovers EVL Development scored four with bottom team, Elmstead Market Reserves scoring three in response.

There was one Tommy Thompson Cup tie, that saw Division Two, Silver End United score nine against Division Four, Tollesbury who managed two goals in reply.

Prettygate Reserves dropped out of the Essex Junior Cup after losing against CSM London U23, Rayne will try again next week after their match was postponed.
