Sudbury Sports took advantage of having two home matches on Tuesday and Friday evenings, a close drawn game against Dedham Old Boys then winning by the odd goal in seven against struggling Tiptree Heath who remain rock bottom.

On Saturday there were six Premier Division matches, Brightlingsea Town stay second winning at home as did Cressing United, Earls Colne, who scored after twenty-three seconds, and Kings Park Rangers who remain top, Alresford Colne Rangers and Thorpe Athletic won on the road, the latter remain in third spot

Division One had just two matches, leaders Dovercourt Rovers hit seven (four for Roberts) against Hedinghams United and Little Oakley Reserves scored five to move up to third place.

There were seven matches in Division Two, Gas Recreation Reserves and Great Bradfords both scored five at home, The Rodings, Earls Colne Reserves and Dedham Old Boys Reserves (three for Vitelli) all scored three away, and three was the number when White Notley Reserves and Prettygate shared the points.

Seven matches were also completed in Division Three, Great Bentley “A”, Hatfield Peverel Reserves (three more for Dingli), Tiptree Jobserve Reserves and Oyster (four for Savory), won at home, Elmstead Market and West Bergholt won away with Tendring District and Roman Rovers Reserves finishing at two goals apiece.

In Division Four, seven matches and fifty-three goals, headliners are Roman Rovers “A” who hit eleven (four for Reeve), Silver End Reserves scored seven against previously unbeaten Hedinghams United Reserves. Harwich & Parkeston “A” stay unbeaten and top after beating local rivals Bradfield Rovers Reserves, Boxted Lodgers Reserves won as did Tendring Borough and West Bergholt Reserves whilst Stillwaters Reserves (three for Baker) got their first win and points at home to Tollesbury, for whom Twidell scored four.

Saturday was also the first round of the Essex Premier Cup, Bradfield Rovers (three for Stratton) won by eight goals to nil, Great Bentley bowed out against Catholic United Reserves, always a strong team, as are Corinthians who hit Lawford Lads for six without reply and Tiptree Jobserve lost out against Walthamstow U23.
