Tavern took the opportunity to get in a home league match at Holland FC last Wednesday, winning by five goals to one against Roman Rovers FC.

Friday night saw Little Oakley Reserves host Sudbury Sports in the “Peter Andrews Charity Cup” the visitors winning by two goals to one.

And so, to Saturday, the Premier Division had six matches, one was abandoned, apparently another one for ECFA to resolve, Cressing and Hatfield Peverel won on their travels, Brightlingsea Town won at home to move level at the top. White Notley drew against Stanway Pegasus Reserves and East Thurrock also got a point against Dedham Old Boys for whom this was their seventh draw of the season!

The leading goal-scorer in the top division is Fosker, of Brightlingsea Town with 13 goals (including Penalties)

Four matches were played in Division One, leaders Dovercourt Rovers lost, Gas Recreation remain unbeaten, winning again whilst Bradfield Rovers and Hedinghams United also won.

Stratton, of Bradfield Rovers is the leading goal-scorer with eleven goals.

Division two had seven matches, Earls Colne lost for the first time against Tavern, leaving Prettygate (three for Lam) and The Rodings as the two unbeaten teams, both won again and sit first and third respectively after seven matches. Alresford Colne Rangers hit five (three for Hodgson), but Cressing Reserves (three for Assan {J} and three for Miller {D}) doubled that when beating out of sorts Assington Stanley, Great Bentley Reserves also scored five and Roman Rovers three as they won.

Overall leading goal-scorer is Clifford (L) of Earls Colne Rangers who has twenty-one to date.

There were seven more matches in Division Three, Hatfield Peverel Reserves, Flitch United, Silver End and Barnston Reserves all won and there were two, three-all draws involving Oyster against Tiptree Heath Reserves and Roman Rover Reserves and Elmstead Market and finally second placed Great Bentley “A” were held by Tendring District.

It remained to be seen if Dingli, of Hatfield Peverel had increased his tally, he did and now has nineteen goals to date.

Division Four had five matches, Harwich & Parkeston “A” remain unbeaten (seven from seven) and top, scoring five, third placed Silver End United Reserves, also unbeaten, (five from five) also hit five. Brooklands, Hedinghams United Reserves (four for Turner) both won, and congratulations to Elmstead Market Reserves who secured their first points, when winning against Tollesbury.

Coyle of Tendring Borough is the leading goal-scorer with sixteen goals.

In another Peter Andrews Charity cup match, Alresford Colne Rangers (four for Lewis), progressed at Cavendish.

In the Essex Junior Cup, Bradfield Rovers Reserves lost at home to Witham Town Reserves and in the Suffolk Primary Cup, Boxford Rovers lost out by a single goal to Achilles Reserves.
