There were more evening fixtures last week, these saw Premier Division victories for Great Bentley by five goals (three for Warin) to nil over AFC Pegasus Colchester and Tiptree Heath over White Notley a game that saw nine goals scored and a fine second half turnaround for the victors.

Wednesday had four more matches and thirty goals, Belle Vue Social beat struggling Alresford Colne Rangers, Thorpe Athletic hit eight (three for Barnard) against Gas Recreation, who led two-one at half-time, Hatfield Peverel (three for Arnold) and Earls Colne shared ten goals, and Springfield also came from behind against Cressing United (three for Collier) as they shared just six goals!

On Saturday, there were six matches in the Premier Division, White Notley and Belle Vue Social failed to find the net at all, top scorers were Springfield who hit six (three for Wass) against depleted Dedham Old Boys, Cressing scored five against Alresford Colne Rangers, Hatfield Peverel hit Gas Recreation with three but wasted countless other chances, Great Bentley beat Tiptree Heath and two unbeaten teams met in deepest Essex, East Thurrock prevailing by three goals to two over Thorpe Athletic.

Early divisional leaders Clacton Regent were thumped by The Rodings & Little Waltham who hit three and were helped by two own goals in Division One, Gosfield United did likewise to Prettygate, there were also victories for Lawford Lads, Tavern (three for Jordan) whilst Dovercourt Rovers were held by Hedinghams United, they shared six goals.

There were eighteen goals in the three matches that were played in Division Two, Bradfield Rovers scored four against the three from Cavendish, Boxford Rovers hit five to the one from Cressing United Reserves, and Wormingford Wanderers just got the better of Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves, with a late winner.

Four matches were played in Division Three, all were home wins, with all the visitors failing to score, top scorers were Harwich & Parkeston “A” with seven against Boxted Lodgers, Tiptree Jobserve scored five against Oyster, Elmstead Market scored four against Brooklands and Stillwaters beat Springfield Reserves by a solitary goal.

There were plenty of goals on Division Four, nineteen, in fact, a rare away victory for Tollesbury (six) over West Bergholt Reserves (three), Hedinghams United Reserves and Roman Rovers “A” both won by four goals to one, over Prettygate Reserves and Stanway Rovers EVL Development respectively.
