With several Premier Division teams involved in the Knock-Out Cup there were just three Premier Division matches, sixth placed Thorpe Athletic played second placed Great Bentley, a fine competitive match ended with the home team winning by two goals to one. Springfield just edged out bottom team Alresford Colne Rangers by a single, “worldie” of a goal, the third match was scoreless between Gas Recreation and AFC Pegasus Colchester. With leaders East Thurrock inactive it now means that five teams are on twenty-four points, four points behind the leaders who also have a game in hand!

There was a bottom of the table clash in Division One, Hatfield Peverel Reserves scored four to overcome Lawford Lads for their first victory of the season and the teams swap places. In mid-table, Great Bentley Reserves and Hedinghams United shared four goals but Dovercourt Rovers where surprised by third bottom, FC Clacton Reserves who won by four goals to two.

Division Two had one casualty due to a lack of players, there were three red card shown in the match where West Bergholt got back to winning ways when beating White Notley Reserves and go back into second place. In the Suffolk derby, Cavendish found the net five times to the two from Boxford Rovers, another team to score five were Springfield Reserves, this against bottom team Great Bradfords, lastly, Gas Recreation Reserves beat lowly Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves to stay fifth.

Top scorers this week were Tiptree Jobserve, they are averaging five goals a game at present and hit nine (five for Scott) against second bottom, Brooklands, bottom team Roman Rover Reserves were hit for six by third placed Great Bentley “A”, (three for Goody), the third game saw Oyster beat Wivenhoe United by a solitary goal.

Division Four leaders Roman Rovers “A” were beaten by Hedinghams United Reserves, Rayne scored six (three for Beckwith-Addison), at home against West Bergholt Reserves and Wormingford Wanderers Reserves move above Stanway Rovers EVL Development when beating them. Second bottom, Tendring District scored three but still lost out to Tollesbury who went one better, in the other match, Kelvedon Social edged out Prettygate Reserves by the odd goal in three.

The Knock-Out Cup saw one match postponed, the tie will be awarded but eight matches were completed, alphabetically, Division One, Clacton Regent beat Premier Division, Earls Colne., Cressing United beat Belle Vue Social., Premier Division, Dedham Old Boys (three for Vitelli), needed penalties to beat third Division, Boxted Lodgers., Ramsey & Mistley beat Wormingford Wanderers., Silver End United beat Roman Rovers., Tiptree Heath beat Tavern on penalties., The Rodings & Little  Waltham beat Stillwaters and finally Premier Division, White Notley beat Third Division, Harwich & Parkeston “A” whose parent Club were celebrating their 150^th anniversary, quite an achievement.

One match was played in the Reserve, Knock-Out Cup, Bradfield Rovers Reserves beating Frinton & Walton Reserves by three goals to two.

In the Suffolk Senior Cup, Sudbury Sports lost out by a score line of four goals to three against Leiston U23’s from the Thurlow Nunn League.
